When I first began working with suppliers to develop herbal tea blends, I quickly realized something important: Although I understood the functions and benefits of each herb, I knew very little about their origins. I didn’t even know what many of them smelled like in their fresh, natural state. The quality of the herbs I sourced was often accessed by price differences offered by suppliers.  

As I started researching more and talking with other small tea brands, I was surprised by what I found. Many home-based tea businesses rely heavily on wholesalers, often purchasing pre-made blends and rebranding them. Few had true understanding of what high quality herbs or teas are. That was not the path I wanted to take.

So, I paused production and decided to start from the ground up. I began traveling to the sources, visiting farms, meeting growers around the world, and learning directly from the people who cultivate these incredible plants. I wanted to experience the aroma, texture, and the stories of each herb firsthand.

This journey is more than about creating a tea blend, it’s about honoring the origin, history, and integrity of every ingredient I use. Through Beauty and her tea, I hope to share this discovery journey and help others learn how to identify and appreciate high-quality tisanes.

That’s how Beauty and Her Tea was born.
